Phosphate Availability in Calcareous Soil

As supported by field research in Central Arizona, Actagro Structure® is proven to increase phosphate availability and yields in grain corn. In fact, Structure® treatments were the only treatments which yielded any return on your investment.

Current Studies Show:

  • Improved efficacy of Actagro Structure®
  • Higher yields ranging from 19.5 to 23 bu/acre
  • Increased grower return on investment

Trial Specifics:
(
All treatments were applied by commercial tractor side dress in 4 field length replications. Conducted in a grower field.)

  • Structure® 13 gal/A
  • Structure® 13 gal/A + Liquid Humus® 1 gal/A
  • 10-34-0 7.5 gal/A
  • 10-34-0 7.5 gal/A + Hydra Hume® 0.75 gal/A
  • 11-22-0 12.2 gal/A (Made with Actagro Structure®)
  • Ortho Phos Plus 51.7 lbs/A
  • Untreated

Additionally: The field had already been fertilized with Phosphate prior to planting (with 80# P2O5). According to University soil test guidelines, this field should not have responded to added Phosphate at all, but it certainly did, providing great yield increases.

Despite claims of improved Phosphate availability by competing products, at equal Phosphate rates (of 30#/A) only the Actagro Structure® treatments gave any response statistically different than the untreated check.

Economically, the Structure® treatments were the only treatments yielding a significantly higher return on investment.
